[ the church goes bright. a vivid kaleidoscope glow coats the walls, the floor, the ceiling, until it's as if not only the windows but the whole church is made of stained glass, sparkling like stars, ran through with stark, ink black seams. it may look familiar - like the pictures of the place where Exael once brought people to meet with her.

the doors are pushed open and then pushed closed again behind them, by... a beautiful, human-looking woman, wearing a white dress. she walks on bare feet, calloused and scuffed with dirt from walking, a humble note which does nothing to diminish her air of grace. they don't seem to cause her any pain as she approaches King and Hiryuu, even though there are old burn scars spanning up her legs, from her toes all the way until they vanish beneath the hem of her skirt. ]

Gentle souls. God has heard your prayers.

[ Hiryuu is distracted, albeit briefly, by the phantasmagoria of lights, but the sound of the doors opening up draw her back.

She looks uncertainly between the beautiful stranger and King. ]

I thought... that is, I wasn't sure you would be able to make an appearance in a place like this. That we might just get--a voice. Thank you for your presence....

[ Her eyes are drawn not to the lovely woman's face, but to the burns and scuffs on her bare feet. A part of her very, very much really wants to ask if this woman is REALLY an angel. ]

Thanks murderhouse!! ] Originally, I'd wanted to speak with you all about different matters, but--it is our most pressing reason at this time, yes. Some of our friends have reached the point of disappearing--visually, at least--for short periods of time. They've also forgotten things that one shouldn't be able to forget. [ she retracts her hand from Hiryuu's hair to hold it to her own chest instead, with great and quiet sadness in her voice ]

To prevent this... "belief begets truth." That is the nature of existence. If the audience does not believe that you are all divided, then in the belief that you are all the same, so it shall be. Even the distinct may be dragged down, surrounded by uncertainty.

Even if one unit displays a consistent presentation, if one outsider, two, or three, any number of people who should be all other sorts adopt that same presentation, then what meaning can it hold? That is why even the distinct may be dragged down.

The audience isn't just the damned. You are watched by beings of all manner of influence. But this isn't their power, or their choice. It's simply how it is.

He turns back to the messenger. ]

When you say "beings of all manner of influence"... does that mean more than just Heaven and Hell?
